Cycle Bristol CTC Autumn Tour

This autumn Cycle Bristol will again be venturing to the hostel at Le Quiou in Brittany. We have a 7 day tour of Brittany planned with 3 nights at the hostel and 2 nights on the ferry plus an optional extra night staying in the seaside town of Dinard tagged onto the start of the trip. Le Quiou is situated in Brittany, 8 miles south of Dinan and 30 miles south of the Port of St Malo. A safe, quiet village, Le Quiou has a crêperie and a bar. There is also the 14th Century Château du Hac, a Roman archaeological villa and a water sports centre at nearby Bétineuc Lake.

The hostel is the privately owned Centre le Page which offers great local home cooking. Accommodation is in single sex dormitories or there are a limited number of double rooms available for couples (first come first served basis). There is a bar at the hostel and a private lounge for our use. There is some great cycling to be had including routes used on the Tour de France (but at a gentler pace!) plus towns, villages and chateaux to explore (including a trip to the Medieval town of Dinan).

The Itinerary:

Thu 12th Sept - Catch overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo.

Fri 13th - Arrive St Malo early morning - A free day to explore St Malo and Dinard (accessible via ferry from St Malo) or to cylce in the local area.

Sat 14th - Dinard to Le Quiou (approx 45 miles).

Sun 15th - Optional day's leisurely cycling around the Le Quiou area taking in some tourist attractions.

Mon 16th - Optional day's leisurely cycling around the Le Quiou area taking in some tourist attractions.

Tue 17th - Cycle back to St Malo to catch the overnight ferry from St Malo to Portsmouth (via Dinan).

Wed 18th - Arrive back in Portsmouth early morning.

If you don't wish to visit Dinard there is the option of catching a Friday night ferry and and meeting us in Dinard on the Saturday morning.

Approx Cost:

Ferry: approx £135 return including bike and overnight cabin (we can arrange cabin sharing).

Hostels: Centre le Page: Approx. £130 - 3 nights bed and breakfast and 4 course evening meal. (Subject to a minimum of 20 people booking and to be confirmed.)

Dinard - you need to book your own Accommodation but we can advise.
