About the centre

Wheels For All Wigan is affiliated to CTC. The centre was established with the help of Cycling Projects and the Wheels for All Programme. Wheels for All is a nationally recognised programme that offers cycling opportunities to people with additional needs by giving access to adaptive cycles in a supportive and comfortable setting.

The centre is hoping to establish a community support group to help promote and fundraise through events or grants. For those who would like to join in on led rides or help out at the sessions, please contact the centre or read about our volunteering opportunities.

Activities available at the centre
  • Sessions at Leigh Sports Village, take place outdoors on a smooth surfaced athletics track.

  • Sessions at Robin Park Arena, take place in the sports hall, on a smooth surface.

  • They run a 'drop in and try them out' policy, though individuals are welcome to book ahead.

  • Groups are advised to book beforehand and regular group bookings are welcome.

  • Phone ahead at Leigh Sports Village if the weather looks unstable.

  • Adults and children are welcome.

  • Wheels for All trained members of staff and volunteers are on-hand to help, assist and support at all sessions.

  • Both centres offer a large cycle fleet which includes wheelchair carriers, side by side tandems, quads, karts, trikes in many sizes, hand cycles, two-wheeled bikes, regular tandems and front loading chairs.

  • Their fleet covers most needs and bikes can be tried out and swapped during the sessions. If you cannot see an adapted bike you think is right for you, give us a call to discuss your needs and requirements.
  • Learning bike skills and progressing onto led-rides on low traffic and traffic free routes is possible for those who desire and feel ready and able.
