Fylde Bike it!

Fylde Bike it!

Fylde Bike It! offers inclusive cycling sessions for adults to ride at the QE2 Park View. The Centre offers a wide range of adaptive cycles to enable adults to enjoy cycling whatever their ability or need. Their cycle fleet  includes trikes, hand cycles, tandems and a front loading tandem for a self transferable wheelchair user.

About the centre

The Fylde Bike It Centre started in 2014 and is a CTC affiliated group that provides people of all abilities with the chance to enjoy cycling. It was established with the help of Cycling Projects through the Wheels for All Programme, who are nationally recognised as offering cycling opportunities to people with additional needs, by giving access to adaptive cycles in a supportive and comfortable setting.

They currently have bikes on loan from Cycling Projects and CTC, and additionally work in partnership with the Wyre Wheels Fleetwood centre.

Fylde Bike It Centre is currently able to assist adults needing support to cycle but would like to expand and include children and family participation too. This would open up opportunities to cycle during school holidays.

Can you help us?

Cycle donations

Their fleet is currently modest and they are looking to expand their range of adult bikes and provide some for children too. They would welcome donations in the form of: two-wheeled bikes, trikes, recumbent trikes, quads, side-by-sides bikes, hand cycles, tandems, tandem trikes, striders for children and a wheelchair transporter. Please contact them  if you can help or know someone who might.

They are always interested in fundraising ideas and opportunities for grants or awards to support our inclusive cycling work. Please contact them  with your ideas or if you are aware of other funding opportunities.

Please help them promote their centre by printing and distributing their flyer to get more people involved. Circulate amongst your friends, family and other groups you know that might be interested! They are particularly focused on enabling access for children and young adults with Special Educational Needs and their families.

Fylde Bike It Annual Membership Scheme

They offer a Fylde Bike It! membership scheme that gives you a discount on sessional fees and is recommended if you frequently participate. They aim to negotiate other local offers and discounts for your benefit, but any membership supports their ability to enhance and increase cycling opportunities for you.
