Cycling UK Tourist Competition
Welcome to the home of the Cycling UK Tourist Competition!
For twenty years Cycling UK members have been touring the country and competing against fellow members for the highest number of points in organised rides.
In 2017, we wanted more members to cycle more often by encouraging everyone to participate in multiple events and have fun, achieve and get fit.
Last year, we had over 900 people take part in 90 Tourist Competition events put on by various Member Groups all over the country. There were family events, race days, track days, timed events, treasure hunts, tours and more. It was a great year, and we're working hard to put together the official results for the awards later this year.
Congratulations to all participants, and thank you also to all organisers for the work you've put in to the rides over the last year.
The deadline for submitting clarifications to the 2017 results was Monday 8 January at midnight so look out for the Official 2017 Results!
If you need a reminder of the rules, full rules for the 2017 competition can be found below.
How to Register for the 2018 Tourist Competition
Good news! The Tourist Competition is running in 2018. Due to feedback about how last year went, there have been a couple of changes made to the registration process.
For your results to be counted in 2018, you will need to register as an individual participant by midnight on 31 August 2018.
If you would prefer to register for the Competition using snail mail or email, please give us a call or email us using the contact details below. Because of this update to the Tourist Competition rules, the only information you will need to give any ride organiser is your name and membership number. Easy!
Event organisers; you now have a dedicated Tourist Competition tick box to fill in when registering your event, or via your group publicity page. If you would prefer to register your event via email, please use the 2018 Registration Form below and send it to: email@example.com
The rules for the 2018 points system has also been given a minor change - every ride except Category E rides are ten points, no matter how many an individual has participated in.
Please refer to the full 2018 Tourist Competition Rules in the side bar for more information.
For over ten years, Tourist Competition participants could also gain awards in an additional element of the Cycling UK Tourist Competition; the Mille Miglia. Each rider's distance cycled in Tourist Competitions over the year was totted up, and FREE Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates were awarded according to total distance ridden.
Very sadly, due to the incomplete nature of the 2016 results, we are not able to give full results for the 2016 Mille Miglia.
Please find below the Interim Results for the 2017 Mille Miglia - these may be subject to change while we receive more results from ride organisers in this year.
Because of the waning popularity of this element of the Competition, the Mille Miglia will be taking a break for the 2018 season. We will be reviewing all our competitions and rides throughout the year - so if you would like this element to make a return, please let us know.
