About Bike Week
Over 96 years ago Bike Week was born. Since then it has been the mission of Bike Week to show people there is a bicycle for everyone. It is our aim to help you discover your passion for cycling.
From that simple idea we've seen hundreds of events take place all over the country, from beginner cycle training sessions to hundred-mile-long sportives, from maintenance workshops to bike breakfasts with colleagues. This year as result of coronavirus we're moving our physical activities to later in the year. However, we look forward to celebrating solo riders and all cyclists via our digital events between 30 May and 5 June.
Cycling is an incredible solution to many challenges which the UK face. More cycling could help fix – air pollution, obesity, poor mental health and traffic congestion – and Cycling UK aims to help address the challenges by supporting a growing social movement, passionate about making it easier for more people to cycle.
