Peter Mathison - Runner-up

Volunteer Awards 2018
Peter Mathison, Birthday Rides Co-ordinator
Peter Mathison was shortlisted in the Exceptional Individual - Cycling Programme category for Cycling UK's 2018 Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Peter has been given a special mention in this year's awards for his work for the CTC Birthday Rides. Peter was also shortlisted individually to recognise the amount of work he has put into the phenomenally successful yearly event.

He has been involved for the last seven years as Co-ordinator, and has put a great amount of time and effort into organising each event to make it run as smoothly as possible. His approach is friendly and inclusive, which has contributed to the success of the rides as a whole – the rides are for a many a highlight of their cycling year!

More than 300 Cycling UK members regularly attend the CTC Birthday Rides, due in no small part to Peter's dedication.

This last year is Peter’s last as Co-ordinator, and Cycling UK wants to show its appreciation for his commitment.

Cycling UK's Volunteer of the Year Awards are given annually to recognise and celebrate all the incredible work volunteers do in encouraging others to start cycling and keep cycling.
