Charlotte Carter is part of Cycling UK's 100 Women in Cycling 2018 list for her enduring support for other female cyclists through her work in Preston.

Charlotte is a Cycling Development Officer in Preston, Lancashire, working in partnership with local organisations and volunteers to develop grassroots cycling opportunities. Her key focus is on offering ladies-only provisions, from beginners learning to cycle to those wanting to led rides of their own.

Charlotte says, “I plan and deliver community events, including a Ladies Only Guild Wheel Challenge, which supports unconfident ladies to cycle the 21-mile Preston Guild Wheel. Last year a total of 53 ladies participated on a wet and breezy day, some of whom had never cycled more than six miles before or hadn’t been on a bike for over ten years.”

It is an amazing feeling to share the excitement and happiness learning to cycle brings.
