CTC Campaigning Achievement of the Year 2012 (The Gordon Selway Memorial Award) – Bruce Lynn

The Healthy Rides co-ordinated by Bruce Lynn has developed the self confidence of those who lacked the courage to cycle on London streets.

He has drafted a proposal for the Director of Public Health which sets out the case for a publicly funded programme to promote cycling for health in Southwark and Lambeth.

Bruce’s proposals include regular led healthy rides, re-instating the AgeWell summer programme for seniors, and some estate-based cycling for health schemes. This all to be supported by appointing "Cycling Champions" as proposed in the NICE report last year and creating a post for a "Cycling for Health" organiser.
