Sue Booth

CTC Volunteer of the Year for North West England, Sue Booth.

Sue never misses an opportunity to ‘promote’ cycling – from giving advice on cycling routes, advertising local rides, recommending the benefits of CTC membership, reporting issues with cycle paths, helping with many punctures to giving up her gloves in minus degree temperatures! – Sue is known as the ‘font of all knowledge and support’ when it comes to cycling.

In the last year Sue has coordinated 3 sponsored rides as part of the Cheshire and Wirral NHS Challenging Stigma Campaign – promoting awareness of mental health and learning disabilities and through this helped to fund 18 athletes to take part in the Special Olympics in Leicester.

Sue has set up ladies cycling group aptly named ‘The Fabulous Ladies’ which meets monthly on a Saturday morning and has grown to over 50 members. Many members never felt they would have the fitness or ability to join a cycling group but with the encouragement and support of Sue are now growing in confidence and enjoying the fun and friendship group cycling offers.
