Cycling UK in Scotland

In 2016, the Big Bike Revival worked with 81 community groups and over 7,000 people across Scotland to encourage more everyday cycling. We've captured some of these events and activities with a compendium of case studies, bringing groups' and individuals' stories from across Scotland together in one handy document.

 
 
While most mothers enjoyed flowers, chocolate and breakfast in bed this Mothers’ Day, some cycling mums ditched the pampering to campaign instead for better walking and cycling provision for families across Scotland. On Sunday they took to the paths of Edinburgh to launch the local election campaign We Walk, We Cycle, We Vote.

Ever feel overtaking cars are too close for comfort? Thanks to 970 supporters, Cycling UK has raised over £14k to put an end to close passes on UK roads!

 
 
The Government has been told that traffic law enforcement needs specialist traffic officers and visible roads policing, but the numbers keep falling alongside the decline in detection of traffic offences. Whilst political will and more resources are needed, does the West Midland's close pass scheme show how, whilst we're waiting, clever enforcement can mean getting more for less?
