Several weeks ago, the tragic death of a young woman in Edinburgh rocked the city’s cycling community. The cause of the incident isn’t yet known and is being investigated by Police Scotland, but we do know that 23-year-old medical student Zhi Min Soh fell off her bike near tramlines and was subsequently run over by a mini-bus. She died of her injuries. Cycling UK was distressed to hear of her death and offer condolences to her family and friends at this sad time.

Rachel Wilson, aged 28, has been coming to the Edinburgh All-Ability Bike Club since it opened and is one of the project’s very first participants. Two years’ later, while she is still a regular rider with the ABC, we’ve since discovered that she has been on an impressive fundraising journey with her local church based in the south of Edinburgh, the Reid Memorial Church.

Electric Bike try-outs for women - 13 Jun 2017 - Ride

This summer Cycling UK is working with 100 groups and centres in Scotland to get even more people back on their bike for everyday journeys. The Highland Cycle Ability Centre held a Big Bike Revival event and they were inundated with people wanting to learn more about inclusive cycling.
