Nearly a decade ago, an item appeared in the CTC magazine asking for members to run special events to encourage women to cycle. 'Five Miles to Fabulous' was the name of the initiative and two women were inspired enough by it to organise a ride for their female friends.

 
 
Swale CTC made the most of the unseasonably weather this week on its annual ​​Christmas Ride yesterday along the north Kent coast. A record 23 riders, many of whom were dressed in festive outfits, attended. Group member Miriam was inspired by the event to write a poem to celebrate.

 
 
The Boxing Day walk is a thing of tradition in the UK, but why not spruce it up a bit and make it a little more interesting with a cycle treasure hunt instead?

Nearly 700 cyclists have signed a petition spearheaded by CTC Councillor Graham Smith calling for Oxfordshire County Council to redesign a “potentially lethal” crossing facility for bikes in Oxford.

 
 
Brighton and Hove has become the first non-London council formally to sign up to the Space for Cycling campaign promoted by CTC.
