Cycle Ayrshire is one of many groups of Cycling UK which have been successful in encouraging more women to take up and enjoy cycling. The group's Secretary Pat Standen gives her tips for making sure women feel welcome on group rides, which can eventually lead to them to ride in mixed groups and tack longer distances.

 
 
Cycling UK's Five Miles to Fabulous project from 2007 to 2008 was the genesis of several groups that exist today and which successfully encourage women to get out on their bikes for relaxation, fresh air and fun. Fabulous volunteer Sue Booth explains what makes the group so successful.
