The NSPCC Tour of England is a revolutionary series of multi-stage sportives that puts the cyclist at the very heart of the action.

Riders of all abilities can experience the world of the professional, with motorcycle outriders, domestiques, mechanics and soigneurs supporting you every mile of the way.

Cyclists ride in seeded groups through stunning countryside and over iconic climbs, race around the best closed road circuits (optional) and enjoy a spectacular Yellow Jersey Dinner on the Saturday night with prizes and guest speakers.

CTC is partnering the NSPCC Tour of England cycle series again this year and, through its team of bicycle mechanics, will be supporting cyclists raising funds to help vulnerable children. If you are a qualified bike mechanic, this is the chance to experience a direct support role in a simulated professional racing environment by volunteering as a mobile mechanic in the Tour of England Series.

You will shadow the riders in a vehicle as they traverse the stages and offer immediate technical support to any problems they may encounter so they can continue with the ride and return to the peloton as rapidly as possible. This is an incredibly energetic, engaging and hands-on opportunity to experience, and be part of, a professional racing simulation.

If you would like to volunteer for this role and are available (dates and more details below),
Simply fill in the 'Volunteer Now' form.

Volunteers will receive the following in return for their support:

  • Accommodation for the Saturday night
  • A place in the 'Yellow Jersey Dinner', hosted on the Saturday night for all participants and volunteers, featuring a delicious menu, fundraising auction, and guest speaker
  • Food & refreshments throughout the event
  • NSPCC Tour of England polo shirt
  • and more...

NSPCC Tour of the Cotswolds, 4th - 5th July 2015:

Stage 1: Ettington - Dover's Hill - Whichcombe - Ilmington - Ettington (route map)

Stage 2: Ettington - Longborough - Sherbourne - Kingham - Ettington (route map)

Additionally, should you choose, you can opt to use your own vehicle for the event to traverse the course shadowing riders (fuel costs will be reimbursed).

This year the NSPCC Tour of England Series of Sportives is coming to South East England, Yorkshire, the Cotswolds and Mercia. Riders will tackle tough, multi-stage sportives in large pelotons through England in a simulated mock-up of a professional race environment, which will include motorcycle outriders and competing cycling teams.

Volunteering with CTC is rewarding and couldn't be easier.
