Paul Hawkins was given an award by the Forestry Commission for having made the most significant contribution to recreation in England in the last 12 months.
Paul has led the 1 South West project from the start and, to date, the project has opened a range of trails at Moors Valley, Haldon Forest Park, Forest of Dean, and two South West Lakes Trust sites.
New trails are also under construction in Bristol, and plans are progressing in Cornwall and Plymouth.
The project is funded by the RDPE and has a number of project partners including the Forestry Commission, CTC, National Trust and South West Lakes Trust.
