In August 2012 six CTC supporters will set off from the Coliseum in Rome on a sponsored cycle ride back to London. Find out how they are preparing for this epic journey.

On 10 August 2012, six CTC supporters will set off from the Coliseum in Rome on a sponsored cycle ride in aid of Help for Heroes and Motor Neurone Disease Association.

On their journey they will take in the highs of the Alps and the Tuscan Mountains, and the lows of sore legs and bottoms in their bid to raise over £12,000 for these two charities.

They will travel through Italy to Switzerland, then on to Liechtenstein, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium and finally England, Arriving home in Chorleywood on Friday 24 August.

The cycling team is made up of six guys ranging from 24 to 43, with varying degrees of ability, but a shared love of cycling and the outdoors.

Training is going well with one of the team recently completing Land’s End to John o’Groats. [2]

This is not the first charity ride that the group have undertaken: in September 2010 four of the group cycled from London to Chamonix in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and Crohn’s and Colitis UK raising over £8k.
