Tonight MPs will debate how to ‘Get Britain Cycling’. CTC will be blogging live between 6pm and 10pm. Thank you to all CTC members who have written to their MP’s during the recess asking them to attend this evening. Over 40 have said they will be there.
The Get Britain Cycling Parliamentary debate

Lib Dem MP Julian Huppert, a co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group (APPCG) which produced the ‘Get Britain Cycling [2]’ report, secured tonight's debate. The debate follows the announcement of some additional cash, and a statement from the Prime Minister earlier in the month [3].

Last week the Government published its response to the Get Britain Cycling report. CTC believes the Government needs to go much further in providing long-term funding [4] at £10 per head for everyone, not just the residents of 8 cities.

Together with other cycling organisations, CTC's has produced a briefing [5] in preparation for the debate. You can watch it live on BBC Parliament, on the Parliament website.
