Breach driving ban - go straight to jail!
The case of a driver who avoided jail after breaking a driving ban for the 45th time has shown that current sentencing practice is "farcical" according to CTC, the national cycling charity.

Space for Cycling launched in London
London Cycling Campaign has launched its Space for Cycling campaign today (7th April), targeting election candidates in all 624 wards in London with local-specific requests for cycling improvements. CTC will shortly launch a national version of the campaign along with local groups around the UK.

2 million potholes repaired last year
Over £100m was spent filling potholes in England and Wales last year, and over £15m paid out in compensation to those injured or their vehicles damaged, according to new figures from the Annual Local Authority Road Maintenance survey, published today.

Cyclist killed due to pothole, says coroner
The cyclist, Martyn Uzzell, hit the pothole in North Yorkshire, and was thrown into the path of an oncoming car. His widow called on the local authority to repair the roads properly in advance of the arrival of le Tour de France in 2014.
