The next instalment of our podcast series is brought to you from the Cyclists' War Memorial in Meriden to mark the centenary of the start of WW1. This podcast is dedicated to all those who perished in the Great War

August 4, 2014 marked 100 years since Britain declared war on Germany. It was a war that should have been over by Christmas but after four years of trench warfare, the conflict had taken over 15million lives and left 20million people wounded.

This podcast was recorded live from the Cyclists' War Memorial Service, which has taken place every year in May since 1921. This year, a special dedication was made to mark the centenary of the start of the Great War. If you haven't already, check out Ed's blog Dispatches from Meriden, about our day there.

This podcast was recorded and produced by Kay Lakin and Laura Raymond.
