Cycling is magic in Maldon!

Cycling in Maldon - a family affair
New weekly cycle rides will be helping hundreds of Maldon residents to re-discover the pleasure of cycling this summer.

CTC has teamed up with Maldon and District Cycling Club to offer FREE weekly rides:

  • Monday evening summer rides - 7pm from outside Maldon Bowls Club, Prom Park;

  • Every Tuesday  - gentle rides 11am from Maldon Library

There are three Sunday rides planned on 14 July, 18 August and 8 September.

There are also three Wednesday rides in Burnham on Crouch on 3 July, 7 August and 4 September.

CTC attracted Active Essex funding to deliver FREE led gentle cycle rides to help people discover some of the quiet cycle routes in and around Braintree, Chelmsford, Clacton, Colchester and Maldon.

Maldon and District Cycling Club are helping to lead the rides and a number of club members recently completed their Ride Supporter qualification with CTC.

The rides are gentle and sociable with a stop for a coffee and always time for a chat while cycling. It’s a great way to get fit and feel happy."

CTC has already got over 3,000 people back on a bike in Colchester, Clacton and Chelmsford. But we’re always keen to help more enjoy such a healthy way of getting about.

CTC also offers cycle training and confidence sessions and has been running basic bike maintenance workshops.
