Community Cycle Club opens in Aldershot

The Community Cycle Club at The Source in Aldershot
A group of keen young adults were the first recruits to complete CTC Cycle Maintenance training as part of the new Community Cycle Club in Aldershot.

The CTC Cycle Maintenance training course was part of the new Community Cycle Club at The Source In Aldershot. The aim of the course is to equip young people with skills for life while promoting cycling and providing a valued community service.

The Community Cycle Club will be a focus for cycling within the Aldershot area and will provide the following services and activities:

• Cycle loan and hire to support job seekers and return to work initiatives.
• Recycle and refurbishment of bikes for resale to the community.
• Bike maintenance activities and classes.
• Bike servicing and repairs.
• Cycle promotion and community cycle events and activities.

This is an amazing project that could make a big impact in Aldershot, we need local cyclists to get involved to share their skills and passion for cycling."

The Community Cycle Club will be managed by and delivered by volunteers, with the aspiration to develop it into a viable self-supporting social enterprise.

Over the coming months,  the club will be developing its services with some pilot events and activities. The aim is to start formal delivery of services in the New Year.

If you are interested in supporting or volunteering to help the Community Cycle Club, please contact CTC Cycling Development Officer for Hampshire Colin Carre
