Cycling UK concern over Chancellor’s road-building Budget
Cycling UK has reacted with dismay to today’s Budget as Chancellor George Osborne announced more road-building plans and another freeze on fuel duty. Cycling UK Policy Director, Roger Geffen MBE, declared: “We want to get more people cycling, not driving.”

Cycling UK urges Government to implement MPs’ road laws report
Cycling UK, the national cycling charity, has urged the Government to say it will fully implement the recommendations of a Commons Committee report on “Road traffic law enforcement”, saying this could have huge benefits for the safety of everyone who uses our roads, particularly the most vulnerable.

CTC's ‘Bike Tweak’ gets you geared up for cycling!
When it comes to changing an inner tube, adjusting a front brake or tweaking the gears, dozens of cyclists in Surrey and Hampshire will now be fixing it themselves…rather than being left in a fix. And that’s all thanks to the bike maintenance sessions organised by CTC Cycling Development Officer Susan Keywood.

Sad passing of commentator and CTC supporter David Duffield
Commentator and former cycling industry exec David Duffield sadly passed away this week, aged 84. David was a staunch supporter of CTC, lending his name and support to our David Duffield challenge rides, which acted as a great fundraiser in support of work to create well designed space for cycling.

Daniel's family donate to Road Justice
Daniel Squire, 18, was killed by a van, whose driver had failed to see him cycling along a straight road on a clear day. Yet a jury cleared the driver of all charges, even though he had been texting continuously until seconds before the collision. Daniel's devastated family want to stop distracted driving and are now donating monies raised through fundraising to CTC's Road Justice campaign.

Ride reliably with Essex CTC for 75 miles
A popular annual cycling event, the 'SEG's 75' takes place in February. It is used by some of the Essex racing community as one of the first 'warm-up' rides of the year, and frequently attracts over 130 riders – despite the weather, which is usually very cold and windy! The ride, organised by Essex CTC, takes place on Sunday 28 February.

Take action for safer lorries
Transport for London (TfL) are seeking your views on a possible step towards safer lorries. But with your help, this could be the first step to a much bigger win. CTC is proposing a 'roadmap' so that, within a few years, the only lorries allowed on most built-up streets in London and elsewhere would be those whose cabs let the driver see cyclists as easily as bus drivers can.
