About this project

Cranks is a not for profit organisation which provides a free workshop space with the tooling and expertise to help people to fix their own bikes.  Our time and second hand materials are paid for by donation and new parts are sold at a discount.  We also refurbish old donated bikes for sale and ensure that bikes which have reached the end of their life are disposed of responsibly.

What happens to the reconditioned bikes?

Bikes that are in sufficiently good condition are refurbished for onward sale.  Other machines are broken for parts with are used to repair other bikes.
