About this project

The Broken Spoke Bike Co-op is about creating a culture of cycling for a more sustainable and healthier Oxford. We aim to address social inequality, create a healthier environment, and strengthen the culture of bicycling in Oxford by teaching people from all backgrounds to become self-sufficient and proficient in bicycle maintenance and riding.

We teach classes in bike maintenance, offer 'open workshop' sessions when the public can come and use our fully stocked bike workshop with help from expereinced mechanics, recycle bikes, work with vulnerable members of the community to gain life and practical skills and offer cycle confidence trainning.  Basically we are passionate about the power of cycling to make our community more connected and resilient and we'll to anything we can to enable everyone to access it.

What happens to the reconditioned bikes?
