What are Cycling UK Member Groups?

There are hundreds of Cycling UK Member Groups throughout the UK. Find out who they are and how your group could join them.

For over 120 years, Cycling UK members have come together to organise bike rides and activities for leisure and social reasons. These groups often have very strong local roots, with customs and traditions that have evolved over many years, for example Chester and North Wales CTC. Many are relatively new, such as Wombourne CTC and some are not even geographically based, for example the Inclusive Cycling Forum.

Member Groups range in size from the large and very active, such as CTC Stevenage and North Herts, Cycling UK's Voluntary Group of the Year, to those that may only organise a handful of rides a week for a small number of members.

Wherever you live, there is probably a Cycling UK Member Group near you. From the Scottish Highlands to Cornwall, Cycling UK Member Groups both large and small exist throughout the UK. All cover on-road riding and many provide off-road rides too, as well as social events such as barbecues, club nights and quizzes.

Whatever their size, and wherever you are, they welcome you to join in with what's on offer. You can ride for up to 5 times with any Group before you will be asked to become a Cycling UK member in order to satisfy the requirements of our insurers.
