About us

See our Facebook page for up-to-date ride and event information: https://www.facebook.com/groups/19494697792         We encourage all forms of cycling, irrespective of Age, Sex, Race or Ability.

Social rides - We have a year-long programme of Sunday Club Runs of distances of between 60-70 miles. There are rides of about 50 miles on Tuesday and Thursday morning. These rides start at 09.00 from the car park of the Co-op  Supermarket  at Rothley, LE7 7NQ. The Sunday rides occasionally take the form of two groups riding at different paces, including a 'we will wait for you' pace.

Leicestershire Road Club was formed in 1909. Since being formed the Club has produced many top class cyclists including world champions and national champions. Current-day membership is drawn from around Leicestershire but the majority of members are from the towns and villages north of Leicester.

We have an increasingly ambitious programme of events. Most recently, these have included 'The Crippler', an early season reliability ride of three distances which test a riders fitness over the hills of East Leicestershire. The Club promotes an Open 10-mile TT in March. There is a 27-mile Open Hilly TT in April. May sees the beginning of a 13 week series of 10-mile TTs. There is an Open 25-mile TT in June. In August the Club promotes a road race as part of the East Midlands Road Race League and in October the Club promotes a cyclo cross event as part of the Leicestershire Cyclo Cross League.

Members also take part in track racing, hill climbs, roller sessions and a range of non-competitive rides and tours.

We are actively promoting many forms of Cycling including: Cycle-Cross, Mountain Biking and of course Road cycling to name just a few...

Leicestershire Road Club are a CTC affiliated group.
