White Horses ride

Road ride
Distance of the ride:
60 mi

We’ll take in 7 White Horses counter-clockwise in Wiltshire so that the hills are mostly done by the time we get to lunch – we still have one monster afterwards.  Yes we will go down Hackpen Hill this time rather than up.  Also we may take tea at the end of the ride at the Crofton Beam Engine cafe.

We head-off from Bedwyn station at 8/30am and cycle 60 miles round the horses at Marlborough, Hackpen Hill, Broad Hinton, Cherhill, Roundway, Alton Barnes and Pewsey.   There’ll be road-side elevenses and we’ll have lunch at the truly divine Divine Cafe on Labour-in-vain hill in Cherhill – their ham, eggs and chips are the best.  Plus the best bike rack for a cafe in miles.

Meet at Reading station (south-side by the Three Guineas pub) at 7.30am.  There should be plenty of room for bikes on the service to Bedwyn.

Can you please register your intent to come on this ride with me.  I can then buy the cheapest available train tickets and also let the cafe know how many to expect.
