Coxwold Cyclists Service
On Sunday May 8th 2016, over 300 pedal cyclists from across Yorkshire and Teeside, will converge on the village of Coxwold, east of Thirsk, for their 90th annual Service of Remembrance at St. Michaels Church, beginning at 1.30 pm.
The small, 14th century church will be filled with a sea of multicoloured jerseys. Cyclists will act as bell ringers, sidesmen, offertory collectors, lesson readers, choristers and organist. Local residents and visitors to the area are welcome to come and join us.
The 45 minute service will be led by the Rector, the Rev Liz Hassall. The guest preacher will be the Rev Canon John Thomson, the Bishop of Selby.
Organised rides to the service will be arranged by local CTC members, from Hull, York, Leeds, Malton and Teesside. Non-CTC local cycling clubs are warmly welcome to come along.
Refreshments will be on sale in Coxwold village hall from 11 am, and after the Service.
