About the Centre

About the centre:

Cycling4All - Shropshire is affiliated to CTC and the centre is supported by Cycling Projects and their Wheels for All programme. The centre is part of a county-wide campaign 'Cycle Shropshire' aiming to get more people in Shropshire on bikes.

The cycle circuit at Shrewsbury Sports Village is in good use already with other clubs using the facilities frequently, like the Mid Shropshire Wheelers and the British Cycling Go-Ride club.

Keen to Develop and Expand

Now an Inclusive Cycling Programme at the Sports Village has been established, they are keen to see the adapted bikes in regular use across the community. Following a selection of taster events earlier this year at Owestry, Ludlow and Craven Arms, it would be great to see regular sessions established at these locations too.

Shropshire County Council have funding to widen the track at Secret Hills, Craven Arms so that trikes and quads can be used there, which is good news. They are also keen to hear from volunteers who would like to to help running sessions at the new centre. Training will be provided, so if you are interested in helping out or would like to hear about inclusive cycling developments at Craven Arms please contact Ray Hughes.

Girl riding a trike
Getting out and being active was a challenge for the Henstone family. All six children have disabilities, so finding something that is suitable isn't easy. Thanks to Cycling4All Shropshire, the family has found a new love for cycling.
