Two riders on the Witches' Curse route

CTC Witches’ Curse Challenge Ride & Sportive - 9 September 2012

The Witches’ Curse is definitely one for the climbers and don’t let the distances fool you. The long route may only be 68 miles but it contains over 7,500 feet of climbing. The shorter 45 mile route still has nearly 5,000 feet of climbing which is much more than your average longer distance event.

The next round of the 2012 CTC Challenge Rides and Sportives series takes place in the Lancashire town of Clitheroe on Sunday 9 September.

The long route may only be 68 miles but it contains over 7,500 feet of climbing with 15 recognised climbs.

The shorter 45 mile route still has nearly 5,000 feet of climbing which is much more than your average longer distance event.

If the climbing takes it’s toll on the day fear not as the courses have been designed so that no point is more than 10 miles from start/finish.

Both routes will be fully signed, timed, have mechanical support on route and at the HQ. There will be broom wagon following, well stocked feed stops and a snack on your return to the finish. It is all included in the entry fee of £17 for CTC members and £27 for non members.

This event also sees the launch of the new Shimano Test Wheel Fleet, giving entrants an opportunity to try out Shimano’s top end wheels during the sportive for free just register and hopefully you are lucky to get your choice of wheels for the ride.

Entries are limited to 400 this year and there are just a few places left so book your place online today!

For more details and to download the routes take a look at the CTC Challenge Rides website.
