Cycling can contribute to increasing physical activity and has a number of significant health benefits. There has been considerable progress promoting physical activity in Scotland.

The Chair of CTC in Scotland, surgeon Mr Chris Oliver and his daughter Catherine Oliver, have almost completed an intense and gruelling 3,415-mile cycle ride across America in aid of international charity WaterAid. They are due to finish this Wednesday 28 June.

Chris Oliver took over as Chair of CTC Scotland in January 2012 and members say he has brought ‘new life’ into the organisation.
