Sam proves you’re never too old to start cycling
Sam Sahdra reckons cycling with the Handsworth Ladies is like being part of one big, happy family. Not that Sam got off to the greatest of starts when she first considered taking up cycling. She saw her grandchildren riding their bikes, asked them if they would help her to cycle – and they said she was too old!

Mandy’s on a two-wheeled road to recovery
Back in the dark days, Mandy Coxon had to make a determined effort to remain standing behind the safety line on the station platform as her train came in after work. She would often sit in a corner and cry when she got home, just thankful to have made it through another day.

Brenda’s story – learning to ride a bike with CTC
Brenda was keen to join in one of the local led rides; the only problem was, she’d never ridden a bike before! Through the help of CTC’s Ross Adams, she’s now riding a bike and cycling with her family.

Boathouse Youth Blackpool
Back in 2009, the CTC community cycling offering was in its infancy and Boathouse Youth (BHY) was just beginning its work in the deprived community of South Shore, Blackpool, an area which is in the worst 1% of most deprived wards in the country.

Supporting Healthy Streets
CTC were funded by the Lancashire County Council Gateway programme to deliver Community Cycle Clubs in partnership with "Healthy Streets". Over the first eighteen months 23 community cycling projects were identified and supported through the work of CTC Cycling Development officer Damian Bonsall.

Lancashire Youth Challenge
A number of organisations working with young people in Lancaster came together with CTC to offer a life-changing cycling experience to a group of young people from deprived areas of the city.
