Support Space for Cycling with We Walk, We Cycle, We Vote and Pedal on Parliament

With over 50 organisations involved in the campaign, We Walk, We Cycle, We Vote is working with partners across Scotland to take the campaign pledges to every local election candidate before the 4 May

Scottish local election campaigns are well underway and We Walk, We Cycle, We Vote (supported by Cycling UK) is asking voters to contact their local candidates and ask them to sign up to their three pledges:

  • Investment: Provide sustained, long term investment in both cycling and walking, reaching 10% of the transport budget
  • Infrastructure: Build and maintain dedicated cycling infrastructure suitable for people of all ages and abilities
  • Local action: To solve the main local barriers to active travel, as identified by residents and businesses

You can find out who your candidates are and get in touch with them using their simple online tool where you can find your ward and who's standing based on your postcode, get contact details, and find out which of your candidates have already signed up.

You can also find out how else you can support the campaign by checking out the list of campaign actions - every single action counts!

Pedal on Parliament 22 - 23 April 2017

Alongside Space for Cycling rides across England, this weekend also sees mass Pedal on Parliament demonstrations in four cities in Scotland - Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Inverness (on Saturday) and Glasgow (on Sunday).

This is the biggest Pedal on Parliament yet - and the roads will be closed in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The more people who turn out for these events, the bigger the impact they have - and with politicians of all parties, including the Transport Minister, attending it's a chance to talk to politicians directly about Space for Cycling and why it matters.
