Don't Drive Daddy!

Does your child enjoy the school run as much as Lara Maria does?
The simplest of joys can mean the difference between a happy child going to school or a real drag during the school run.

Having the luxury of living just a mile away from my workplace, with my daughter's nursery being opposite my office, the bike seat has been exceptionally useful.  Anyone that has pushed their child (who is now 4) on a scooter, along with carrying the various bits and pieces you generally take to work, know that this is not usually the first transport choice on the nursery run.  Although I do own a car, I try to use this a little as possible and when choosing a house in Reading, we deliberately chose to live within easy walking/cycling distance close to the main amenities.

Growing up in London our family didn't own a car, as it really wasn't that useful due to the excellent transport links and the fact that we were a family of cyclists.  I can still remember sitting on my dad's bike breezing our way to places.

There is something deeply satisfying about cycling, being in the open air and weaving your way through traffic (although I don't usually do this with Lara Maria on the back!).

On the days when it's not possible to cycle to nursery there is genuine disappointment from Lara Maria"

Cycling dad

I would love both our children to learn to enjoy cycling and see the numerous benefits that this can bring.  I know on the days when it's not possible to cycle to nursery there is genuine disappointment from Lara Maria, so this could well be working!
