John Radford has given invaluable support as the main volunteer organizer of last year’s Phil Liggett Challenge Ride. Despite falling off his bike and badly breaking his femur in January 2010, John has helped coordinate this ride for years checking the route and performing numerous other tasks.

Last year, John was limping badly, using a stick to walk and was in a lot of pain but he arrived early as usual and was on his feet throughout the day making sure everything was running smoothly. He then drove around the course collecting signs, which took nearly 2 hours.

Apparently he had been rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties following surgery on his hip just a month or two before this event.
