CTC Volunteer of the Year for South East England, Becky Reynolds.

Becky Reynolds is a CTC Right to Ride representative for Brighton & Hove and Bricycles Campaigns Officer and Newsletter Editor. Becky also started a Bicycle User Group (BUG) at her place of work, South Downs Health NHS Trust, and organises a BikeWeek 'cycle to work' promotion, both of which are very successful. On ‘Car Free Day’ Becky organised 'the peoples’ bike ride', a very successful event with more than 50 riders taking part; this event was supported by the City Council. Becky puts a lot of work into producing the Bricycles newsletter. It pays off because it is highly regarded by members, local councillors and the public.

Becky has also provided the cycling' perspective in the now successful campaign for a South Downs National Park. During the past 12 months Becky has focused on the important issue of cyclists’ safety. She is working to get safer road conditions for cyclists and better reporting of cycling crashes. This work has involved liaising with Sussex Police, the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership and RoadPeace. Becky is an experienced and knowledgeable cycle campaigner. She has been described ‘as polite, but persistent’. Her thoroughness and persistence has achieved many successes for cycling.
