Paul Moore

Highly Commended: Volunteer of the Year for East of England, Paul Moore.

Paul is a massive asset to Norfolk CTC and the wider cycling community. Just over four years ago, Paul absolutely single‑handedly set up the already award winning Diss Section, providing a family style cycle touring club which caters for all abilities serving the extremely rural South Norfolk community. Every year he volunteers for more positions within the section and "DA' and has become a valuable assistant to a fledgling young President trying to steer the member group through the current times of change.

He is currently the Diss Secretary, Rides Leader and Rides Secretary, Social Secretary, DA Vice‑Chairperson, our events Risk‑Assessor, representative on Norfolk Cycling Forums and a very active member of the Steering Group. Also this year he was unanimously voted to be the next Norfolk CTC President serving the next 3 years as Vice‑President beforehand and until recently he was the editor of Norfolk DAs very successful and popular magazine "Cyclone", which remains at the very hub of what Norfolk CTC do!

Unfortunately late last year Paul found that he was unable to continue his passion of cycling himself due to the pain of a degenerating hip problem. Despite this he has continued to run the Diss Section and is ever‑more involved in DA and wider WC affairs, assisting in the formation and interpretation of the new constitution and DA handbook amongst assisting in and orqanising many other rides and events.
